Barbara Roswell
Barbara Roswell, 79, of Clay County, Florida, died Monday, February 13, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her husband of 49 years, Charles E. Roswell; a Daughter, Denise Roswell; Four grand-daughters, Kayla Conklin, Alexandra Conklin, Grace Conklin, Dawn Conklin; She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Zebrowski; and several nieces. She is predeceased by her son, Lance Shackleford; her brothers, Edward Krolin and Donald Krolin.
Barbara was born in Newark, New Jersey, Daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Mesiak) Krolin and had lived in New Jersey for 63 years. Barbara and family moved to Clay County, Florida 16 years ago.
Barbara was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Middleburg.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in celebration of Barbara’s life to be held on Monday, March 6, at 5 p.m. The celebration will be at Hardage Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Fla. Jerry Knight Williams
Jerry Knight Williams, 90, of Green Cove Springs, passed away peacefully February 14, 2023 in her home surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born on February 19, 1932 to William and Pearl Knight. She was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs.
She was a graduate of Clay High School, lettering in basketball and cheerleading, and a graduate of Jones Business College. While in high school, Jerry served as one of the first usherettes at the historic Clay Theater. She had a successful and varied career as a hairstylist, realtor, and worked many years for the Clay County School Board and the Clay County Property Appraiser.
Jerry was a life-long leader and visionary in her community. She was elected to the Green Cove Springs City Council six times, totaling 18 years of public service to the citizens of Green Cove Springs. Some of her many accomplishments included serving as the first female Mayor of Green Cove Springs. She also championed the effort to build a new City Hall and was selected as the 2004 Florida Council Woman of the Year by the Florida League of Cities.
Jerry’s life has been one of joy and hard work. In her own words, “Green Cove Springs is as close to me as my family, I am there to protect and care for them.”
One of her proudest accomplishments in protecting and caring for the city was leading the effort to preserve the Green Cove Spring Park from being purchased for residential and commercial development.
Jerry was an avid world traveler. She enjoyed many trips abroad as well as taking cruises and road trips throughout the U.S. with her family. Her additional hobbies included gardening, clogging, taking walks through Spring Park and the community that she so loved.
Jerry was a devout Christian and a devoted, life-long member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son Larry, Sr., her daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Larry, Jr. (Stuart) and Caroline, and her many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years J.W. Williams, her siblings Kathleen Smith, Thelma Morea, Anita Bradley, William Knight, Robert Knight, her nephew Ken Bradley and niece Teri Donald.
Celebration of life was Friday, February 17, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest. Visitation was held at 10 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.

Billy Leroy Johns Sr.
Billy Leroy Johns Sr., 86, of Orange Park, FL passed away peacefully on February 19, 2023. Born to Alvin E. and Vivian G. Johns (Griffin) on March 24, 1936 in Chattahoochee, Florida. He graduated from Chattahoochee High School and attended Florida State University. Known as BL, Dad, and Granddad, he was a member of 103rd Street Baptist Church and was a proud railroad man for 40+ years having worked for Seaboard Coastline (currently known as CSX). BL’s favorite pastimes were spending time with family, playing with the grandchildren, watching “Pickers”, listening to Gospel music and watching college football.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandra J. Johns (Garland) of Orange Park, FL; sons, Billy (Tabbatha) Johns, Mark Johns, Ben (Lisa) Johns, Max (Kate) Johns; former daughters-in-law, Jill Johns and Gretchen Johns; sister-in-law, Bonnie Pineda; grandchildren, Mikki Johns, Casee Johns, Tyler Garland, Madison Johns, Kennedy Johns, Sebastian Pineda, Sawyer Johns, Josiah Johns, Christopher Johns, Samuel Johns, Silas Johns; and great-grandchildren, Julian Callaway, Fallyon Pineda and Ember Pineda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Vivian Johns.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the 103rd Street Baptist Church (8819 103rd Street, Jacksonville, FL) with funeral services at 11:00am officiated by Rev. James Turner. Burial following at Jacksonville Memory Gardens (111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL).
