ORANGE PARK – A Keystone Heights man was arrested on July 20 after an Orange Park Police Department officer and two Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputies said he fought with them while they tried to break up a fight at the Zen Living Suites Extended Stay on Eldridge Avenue.

According to arrest reports, Lamarr Maliq Turner, 29, was fighting with another person when OPPD responded. That officer was bitten, and Turner fled the hotel toward Wells Road.

CCSO spotted Turner about one-third of a mile away on Wells Road, and the OPPD officer identified him as the man who battered him. According to CCSO, Turner continued to kick and spit on deputies after he was detained. He managed to pull from his handcuffs and remove his spit hood.

Turner was charged with battery and three counts of battery on law enforcement officers. His bond was set at $66,511.
