Mildred “Betty” Elizabeth Bryant Tucker
Mildred “Betty” Elizabeth Bryant Tucker, age 77, passed away on Saturday, January 7th, 2023, and is now with the Lord.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, where she met her husband of 61 years, Doyle Tucker. In the 70’s, they had two sons, Damon and Jason, built a home and wonderful life in Doctors Inlet, Florida, where she lived until her death.
Betty was a businesswoman and owned a beauty salon and coiffed most of the women in town. She was a professional level seamstress and made many wedding gowns, church costumes and amazing dresses! She spent all her free time volunteering at Fleming Island Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, helping with Vacation Bible School or in the church nursery. She also volunteered at her boy’s school, Doctors Inlet Elementary. Basically, she spent all of her free time loving and caring for children.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Webb, her father John Bryant, and her two sons, Damon Tucker and Jason Tucker. She leaves behind her loving husband Doyle Tucker, her daughter Brittney Anne Tucker, her grandchildren Bryson Tucker, Taron Tucker, and Taralynn Tucker, her great grandchildren Jonah Tucker, Layla Allen, and Jude Allen, her nieces and nephews, her brothers and sisters in law, and many more friends and family.
In the midst of our great sadness, we have the joy of her legacy of love and kindness. To know her was a gift of unconditional love. While many will feel abundant grief in her absence, she has found peace with the Lord and was surely met at the gates of heaven by her two sons.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to Crosspointe Church Fleming Island.
