More than 100 clinics affiliated through the Florida Association of Free and Charitable clinics have served hundreds of thousands uninsured, low-income Floridians, caring for those who simply can’t afford insurance coverage or care.
We thank Reps. Bobby Payne and Sam Garrison and Sen. Bradley who have supported this effort through a cost-effective funding appropriation with a more than 20-to-1 return on investment.
While the need for free medical care remains high, the need for dental care is even greater due the high number of Clay County residents without dental insurance. Dental care access is one of the top health priorities identified by Clay’s health needs assessments and plans, and The Way Free Medical Clinic is building a new free medical/dental clinic this year to address this need. Additional state funds would help immensely to fill the dental care gap.
