Did you know that the Census Bureau reports that the county has 604.6 square miles of land, making us the 43rd largest county? Our population grew from 191,453 in 2010 to 238,244 this year, an increase of 19.6%. Since 2020, our growth has been 8.81%. The median age is 39.9, with women living longer, 41.3-38.7. And according to World Population Review, there are less than 2,000 more women than men in Clay and slightly more than 36,200 senior citizens. The average earning here is $46,415, and the overall poverty rate is 9.37%. As expected, there are a lot of veterans here and most – 22,053 out of 27,136 – came from the first and second Gulf Wars. Lastly, 43.12% of the county’s residents were born here.
