Clay Today will test your knowledge weekly and provide interesting facts on various topics. This week, college conferences. Before taxpayers, the majority who didn’t go to college, are forced to pay for student loans, we should require institutions of higher learning to have the ability to know geography and how to count. The Big Ten currently has 14 teams, and next year, the conference will add USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington to 18 teams. But it still will be the Big 10. The Pacific-12 (Pac-12) actually had 12 members, but four bailed to the Big 10, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah will jump to the Big 12 and Cal and Stanford will move to the ACC next season, leaving the conference with just two teams. The Big 12 has gotten even bigger to 16 teams, even with the loss of Texas and Oklahoma to the Southeastern Conference. Speaking of the SEC, they may talk with drawls in Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, but they certainly aren’t Southern drawls from the Southeast.
