ORANGE PARK – St. Johns Country Day School waited until the bottom of the seventh inning to get back-to-back home runs to beat North Florida Christian, 8-6, to advance to the Final Four of the Class 2A baseball championships.
Clay High’s 5A Region final at Tallahassee Lincoln was postponed for the second consecutive day by threatening weather. The teams will try to play again on Wednesday for a spot in the Final Four.
Meanwhile, Oakleaf lost 11-0 at Oviedo Hagerty in the Class 6A semifinals, and Middleburg lost 6-0 at home to Gainesville in the Class 5A semifinals. Both were eliminated from the state tournament.
