Man arrested for urinating in front of children at fairgrounds
GREEN COVE SPRINGS – An off-duty St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputy working the Clay County Fair on April 1 arrested a 21-year-old man for urinating in front of fair-goers while standing in line for a ride, including three children who were 9 or younger.
Forrest Cole Schrack, of Gainesville, was charged with indecent exposure in public a family reported the incident to the deputy. Schrack appeared to be intoxicated, according to the arrest report, and the front of his jeans was wet.
Schrack also was given a no trespassing warning to the fairgrounds.

ORANGE PARK – A woman who hid inside the Orange Park Mall after closing hours was arrested for stealing at least $10,610 worth of merchandise from a cellphone kiosk, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
Rachel Michelle Martinez, 37, of Green Cove Springs, was charged with grand after she hid inside a kiosk until 11:30 p.m. on March 14. A security officer saw the woman take the merchandise outside the mall through an emergency exit, and when he approached her, she dropped some of it and walked away. It’s not known how much she kept.

Investigators tracked her down to a home in Green Cove Springs, where she was arrested on March 31.
Her bond was set at $25,003.
Woman faces additional drug charges after traffic stop
MIDDLEBURG – An alert Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy recognized a woman who was wanted for failing to appear to court for possessing fentanyl, and during the traffic stop, he uncovered more drugs in her car.
Kristine Nicole Madej, 30, of Middleburg, now faces charged of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as driving with a suspended license, after she was stopped on Cosmos Avenue on March 30.
K-9 Ory alerted deputies of the likely presence of illegal substances in the car, and they found 10.5 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe in her purse.
Since she failed to appear to answer for the fentanyl charges, her bond was set at $93,269.
