KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Park of the Palms is a Christian retirement community that offers independent and assisted living.

It was founded by George Tibbits when he wanted a southern extension of his facility in New York. It began as a Bible Conference Center before turning into a retirement community. Park of the Palms has one and two-bedroom apartments for independent living and one and two-person suites for their assisted living. They also have a variety of amenities that the residents can enjoy such as a heated pool, dining lodge, walking path, church, community center and a recreational center.

The retirement community also offers a lodge for relatives to stay while visiting.

Not only does Park of the Palms provide a community with amenities, but they also care for the well-being of its residents.

“In the assisted living facility we can assist people with their activities of daily life,” said Denise Cribbs, Vice President and Director of Operations.

Bathing, dressing, grooming and housekeeping are some of the daily activities the staff can help their residents. They also do individualized laundry for those living in assisted living. Meals and activities like BINGO, physical activities, gardening, crafts, and games are provided for the residents as well.

“We take excellent care of our residents,” she said.

Park of the Palms also hosts social events monthly and on holidays for their residents. They have a special holiday meal in their dining hall on Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving. In addition, they have a Mother’s Day Social, a Christmas party and a Father’s Day event. In the summer, the residents have an event called Ice Cream Social.

Lastly, the retirement community offers a peaceful environment for its residents and individualized care. Unfortunately, despite the excellent care and activities Park of the Palms offers to its residents, it is not well known in the Keystone Heights area. Due to that, it is seen as a hidden gem in the area.
