CLAY COUNTY – Orange Park Junior High’s Victor Gomes and Oakleaf Junior High’s Kendra Baum were selected as the Clay County School District’s Social Studies Teachers of the Year. Sponsored by the Florida Council for Social Studies, these awards honor educators who facilitate and inspire kindergarten through 12th-grade students. With more than 100 nominations from colleagues, administrators, students and parents, it’s evident social studies teachers are dedicated to shaping tomorrow’s leaders. Gomes and Baum will compete for the state award, which will be announced in October.
