OP Town Council adopts tentative 2024/25 budget

ORANGE PARK - Tuesday's town council meeting had the first reading of a new tentative budget for the the upcoming fiscal year.

A total of $29.6 million, the budget will consists of a general fund, special revenue funds, sales tax capital projects fund, the water and sewer fund and a stormwater fund. 

A second reading of the overall budget will be held on Sept. 17.

The council also approved a 2024 millage rate of 5.7. This comes following the town's assessed valuation of taxable properties aggregating to $855,587,043.

This rate remains the same from last year.

In other news, the town also welcomed their newest police officer Charles Troutt, who was officially sworn in for duty at the meeting.
