CLAY COUNTY — Everyone needs some time away from the norm, some time to rest and relax in a unique setting that gives them a sense of escape.

But what if you could do that without going too far?

If you look around the corner, Clay County is filled with unique vacation rentals and Airbnbs that you may have yet to learn about. From living your equestrian dreams and glamorously camping to staying directly on Doctors Lake, there are plenty of experiences for residents and visitors to indulge in.

Here’s a list of six local unique vacation rentals that will feel like your home away from home.

  1. The LOFT at Grand Landings Equestrian Center in Middleburg.

If you want a "farm stay" feel, this private loft may be just for you. The one-bedroom "over-the-barn" apartment comfortably accommodates four people and includes a king-sized bed, two additional beds, a living room and a completely furnished kitchen.

Additionally, guests can ride one of their friendly horses at 4128 Everett Ave.

  1. A Boatiful Life houseboat on Fleming Island.

If you love the water, on the marina lies a quaint house that may pique your interest. With vaulted ceilings and surrounding window views, this houseboat is said to have you “floating” on cloud nine. The boat accommodates six guests. The boat does not travel but features an upper deck, making it perfect for viewing the sunset.

Located at Doctors Lake Marina, guests can access the adjacent Sunset Tiki Bar.

  1. Camper/RV in Green Cove Springs.

Although goats and chickens roam this vacation property, past guests have said this "'Green Cove Getaway" was nothing short of an enjoyable experience. This Airstream Excella 1000 is situated on five acres on Russell Road and features a bedroom with a short queen bed and a small kitchen, bathroom and main living area. Additionally, guests have access to the pool area.

  1. Treehouse Point Green Cove Springs.

Located in Camp Chowenwaw Park, these eight treehouse cabins accommodate a maximum of four people each. Although the houses themselves don't have electricity, there is a shared bathhouse and kitchen with such. The cabins also feature a dining hall.

    5. Black Creek Hideaway in Middleburg.

Keeping with the outdoors theme, this vacation rental is said to give its guests a glamorous experience. Three boutique tents feature air conditioning and heat on eight acres. Guests also have access to two bathhouses, an RV, a creek home, a fire pit, a hammock and a large above-ground pool.

 6. Keystone Heights RV Resort Covered Wagons.

This unique experience will let you glamp with a historic feel in an authentic covered wagon at the Keystone Heights RV Resort.

Each covered wagon has electricity, a full bathroom with vanity and shower, heating and air conditioning.

The RV park also offers two pools and spas, a clubhouse, pickleball courts, cornhole, shuffleboard, mini golf, a fitness center, a dog park, a bathhouse, laundry room, a sauna, high-speed internet and Dish TV and a picnic pavilion with grills and tables.
