MIDDLEBURG - The Middleburg High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps conducted its Annual Military Inspection on Feb. 22.
The annual event showcases all the hard work of the cadets in the unit with a personal uniform inspection, administrative review, a briefing of the unit’s accomplishments and goals, and ending with a formal Pass in Review Ceremony. The Inspecting Officer, retired Cmdr. Johnathan Shaw, attended, as did Principal Martin Attack, Assistant Principal Miranda Knox and several other special guests.
“The (Annual Military Inspection) is a very important event,” retired Cmdr. Shannon Clark, Senior Naval Science Instructor for the Middleburg JNROTC Unit, said.
“It not only teaches these young men and women the importance of preparing for a formal inspection, but it allows them to actually execute the planning, preparation, and execution of the event," she said. " It teaches them attention to detail, organization, and planning and allows them to show they are capable and is a huge confidence builder in their leadership growth and maturity.”
The all-day inspection culminated in an overall score of Outstanding, the highest mark achievable.
“I couldn’t be more proud of what these talented young men and women have demonstrated and accomplished today and this year!”
