FLEMING ISLAND – The Clay County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of President, JJ Harris, who is leaving to manage family responsibilities and commitments.
Harris assumed the role of President in April 2018 and has led the organization for 3½ years. The Board of Directors thanked Harris for the direction and leadership he has provided to the organization and community.
Effective Friday, Oct. 15, Vice President Laura Pavlus, will assume the role of Interim-President while the Board of Directors formulate the best course of action for the organization during this time of transition. Pavlus has served the organization for six years and will continue to provide a seamless level of support for our stakeholders, and new and existing businesses seeking to grow in Clay County.
The Clay County Economic Development Corporation is a 501.c.3 not-for-profit corporation dedicated to recruiting new businesses to locate to Clay County and working to retain and help grow existing Clay County businesses, and to provide quality, high-wage employment opportunities, diversify the local economy, grow the non-residential tax base and improve the overall business climate and quality of life in Clay County for its citizens and families.
The organization has more than 55 public and private corporate investor partners including: Clay County Board of County Commissioners, Town of Orange Park, City of Green Cove Springs, City of Keystone Heights, Clay County Development Authority, CareerSource NE Florida, St. Johns River State College, Clay County Utility Authority, Clay Electric Cooperative, Florida Power and Light, JEA, TECO Peoples Gas, and AT&T. CCEDC is an Accredited Economic Development Organization by the International Economic Development Council.
