Every person is imperfect and born into a sinful nature. That means that no human relationship we’ll ever have will be perfect. There may be times even our closest friends or family let us down, betray us, or even downright give up on us. This is not to discourage you in your earthly relationships: God made us to be in relationship with one another.
But this is certain, God is the only one who will NEVER give up on us or let us down in any way. That’s why our relationship with Him should be the highest priority of our lives.
Romans 8:39 says, “No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing you’ve ever experienced in the past or will experience in the future can remove you from God’s loving presence. He is more powerful than it all!
We can trust that God is always right by our side. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” God will fight for us, even in our fiercest battles. With His power behind us, we will always be victorious in whatever we face.
There are so many instances throughout scripture that teach us the same truth. Deuteronomy 31:8 reads, “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Let this truth instill in us that we never have to fear or be discouraged in life, for God is with us. He will never give up on us. As we live our lives for God, His power will follow us wherever us go.
