ORANGE PARK – A Gainesville man was arrested on May 1 after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office caught him in an undercover operation using his computer to solicit a child for sex.
According to the Affidavit for Arrest Warrant, Christopher Robert Fox, 42, was charged with soliciting a child via a computer and unlawful use of a two-way communication device after CCSO’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit conducted a covert “chatter” on Grindr with Fox on June 9, 2022. CCSO posted a photo of a 14-year-old boy.
Fox responded to the post, CCSO said. A further investigation revealed Fox was found guilty of possessing child pornography photos in 2018 and 2022 in Alachua County and is a registered sexual predator.
An arrest warrant was issued in Clay County on Aug. 2, 2022, but Fox was at the Hamilton Correctional Institution in Jasper serving a sentence on the second child pornography charge in Alachua County. He was arrested and brought back to Clay County on May 1.
His bond is $200,006. His next court date is June 3.
