JACKSONVILLE – After winning the 800-meter Class 3A boys championship with a gold-medal performance run of 1:50:52, Roman Mollicone anchored Fleming Island High’s 4 X 800-meter relay team to another first-place state championship finish at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida. Other relay team members were Graham Meyers, Michael DeRousse and John Keester. The Golden Eagles also finished second in the 4 X 100 relay with Trace Burney, Sebastian Cruz, Jarius Rodgers, and Kaylib Singleton at 40.99 seconds.
Overall, the Golden Eagles boys team finished sixth.
