Faith Walk: A plan from God

My youngest grandson is 13 years old. He just had a birthday on September 1 when he turned 13.

It is obvious to the spiritual members of my family that he is a special young man in many ways. He is very intelligent, personable, and caring toward otters. We keep Scriptures before him declaring God’s favor for his life. To celebrate his birthday in our church, we had him to come the pulpit and lead the whole church in prayer. Many of us were deeply moved as this young man stood before us speaking a prayer so obviously directed to the heart of God.

We remind him that he is a child of God and that should affect every single aspect of his daily life. There are certain things that ring out to us from the Bible, the written Word of God, that ought to be strongly considered by everyone for the guidance and protection Go wants to give to every one of us.

God has a plan for us. Jeremiah 29:11 in the Old Testament says, ”I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” TLB)

Paul the Apostle said of himself, “For even before I was born, God had chosen me to be his and called me — what kindness and grace – to reveal his Son within me so that I could go to the Gentiles and show them the Good News about Jesus.” (Galatians 1:15-16 TLB)

God promises us many good things if we follow that plan He has for us. He describes us as … “like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:1 TLB)

Start as young in your life as possible to follow the plan God has for you. The sooner you do, the better for you. Bur remember, it is never too late to adopt God’s plan for you as the plan you will follow in your life.
