Life is full of uncertainties. No one predicted or expected the corona virus pandemic that struck our country and the world in 2020. Our lives have been changed by this unexpected invasion of our world.

Suddenly everything changed! Business, schools, homes, churches - everything turned upside down. And here we are, more than a year later, still dealing with things brought to us by this pandemic that are confusing and filling our lives with issues we never expected to have to confront.

Many plans have had to be changed because of this overwhelming and saturating issue that has become a part of all our lives.

It makes very clear to us that our lives can be changed quickly and unexpectedly. Suddenly everything that we had planned falls apart and we must make changes to accommodate the “new normal.”

in the Bible, the book of James tells us such things will happen. “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone” (James 4:14 NLT).

How can you prepare for the unexpected? It is this very thing that faith in God will combat. When you make your plans for tomorrow, you can prepare for the things that will make your plans impossible to complete.

Facing the future sensibly requires faith in God. With all the confusion we have had to face in this pandemic, God has been steadfast, faithful, and dependable. Amid the misinformation and utter confusion by supposedly knowledgeable and informed leaders, I have found my foundation to be as unshakable as it has always been!

We have faced a severe crisis. And we’re still living with the effects of this crisis. But I have found in it all that God, as always, is faithful, steadfast and unchangingly true to his word!

Keep your faith in God! When your plans crumble under the unexpected onslaught, your faith in Him is your anchor!
