In today’s times, we face an ever-mounting list of responsibilities that wear on us over time. We are busier than ever before, and on top of it, life is not always kind. As we go throughout our days, there will be times we feel weak. It may even escalate until we feel entirely defeated and without hope. But we must always have courage because God is on our side.
Courage is not the absence of being afraid; it’s fighting in spite of it. You are never defeated, even when you feel you are at your weakest. God is ready and willing to come alongside you in your darkest moments and help you see them through. Our God is a God of deliverance. He wants to guide you through every trial and bring you out stronger on the other side.
Consider Gideon for a moment. After receiving a calling from God to destroy the altar of Baal, Gideon doubted, was concerned, and even afraid due to seemingly overwhelming odds. But in the end, God’s power was made perfect in Gideon’s weakness. With the Lord on his side, he led the Israelites to a great victory!
2 Corinthians 12:9 reads, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (NLT).
Do you feel unprepared or unqualified for something God wants you to do? Remember, God’s power works best in our weakness. He can bring us to new heights that we have never experienced before. No matter what He has called you to do, He can equip you to make it happen. He can see anything through, for He is the Almighty God of the universe.
Our reliance must be entirely on God. That is when he shows up in power and might. God wants to give you great power when you feel at your weakest, just as He did for Gideon. Even when you doubt or feel afraid, trust that God can do what you cannot. He desires to walk alongside you in life and help you become everything He has created you to be. Be bold in your faith, and step forward onto the path that He has laid before you.
