Clay Today will test your knowledge weekly and provide interesting facts on various topics. Unknown tales. One of the most iconic dance routines is Carlton Banks’ dorky sway and twist from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” But did you know the character played by Alfonso Ribeiro didn’t make up the dance? He copied it from Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 “Dancing in the Dark” when he pulled a girl from the audience to dance with him. Look the dance up on Google, and see for yourself. By the way, director Brian De Palma picked the unknown 20-year-old girl from a casting call, Courteney Cox. The famous fistfight between Donnie and Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough led to fines of $6,000 for each. However, NASCAR founder Bill France quietly gave the money back three days after he told them the sport got “a million dollars worth of publicity from the fight,” including the cover of Time magazine. The Allisons were born down in Hialeah, not Alabama. One Saturday night, Bobby and Donnie’s father, Ed, said he wanted to go to the local short track to watch a young hot shoe  named Bobby Sunderman. On the way to the track, Bobby tried to tell him he had been secretly racing all year under that assumed name because his mother forbade him to race. Before he had a chance to talk, his father said he knew all along, but warned him: “You still better not let your mother find out.”
