MIDDLEBURG – A man died, and a woman was transported to the hospital with burns suffered in a mobile home fire Thursday morning at 3343 Sandy Road.
According to Clay County Fire Rescue, it got the call at 8:40 a.m. and saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home.
Responders removed two people from the home, but Robert Tidwell Hill, 32, was declared dead at the scene.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident. CCFR stressed the importance of working smoke alarms and fire safety, especially during the cold winter months.
