CCSO: Woman already awaiting trial arrested for trafficking meth, molly

ORANGE PARK – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Narcotics Unit said a confidential informant made a controlled purchase of methamphetamine and “molly” from a woman on April 23, leading to a trafficking of illegal drugs arrest on Aug. 20.

Brandy Kay O’Brien, 47, of Orange Park, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and delivering or selling a schedule 1 Opium derivative after CCSO set up the buy at a gas station.

O’Brien was scheduled to stand trial on Nov. 12 for trafficking methamphetamine after being arrested on June 27 for trafficking methamphetamine. According to the CCSO arrest report, she was stopped for running a stop sign on Peoria Road. K-9 deputy Odin alerted deputies of the likely presence of illegal narcotics inside the car. Deputies found 31.35 grams of methamphetamine and several forms of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Because of that, Judge Kristina K Mobley set her bond at $550,009.
