Bond set at $300,006 for man accused of beating up 70-year-old landlord
MIDDLEBURG – A 29-year-old man was arrested on Feb. 1 after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said he beat up his 70-year-old landlord, who was trying to remove him from the property.
Shawn Michael Culbertson, of Middleburg, was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault to commit a felony after deputies found the victim on the ground lying in a “large amount of blood” and a cut on his left eye. After he was taken to the hospital, CCSO said an examination determined the victim also had several fractured ribs and a subdural hematoma.
Culbertson’s bond is $300,006.
