ORANGE PARK — Last year, Back to School Bash handed out new bookbags, clothes and other school supplies to a record high of over 1,700 students in Clay County District Schools.
The annual event is hoping for an even higher turnout this year on July 27 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thrasher-Horne Center at 283 College Dr. The event welcomes elementary to high school students.
The goal is to help reduce financial stress of families with school-aged children by supplying backpacks, school supplies, new clothing, shoes and more to empower families for a strong, successful start to the school year on Aug. 13.
The event, which has been described as a "blessing," is hosted by Seeds of Love Ministry and Saved 2 Serve; both are faith-oriented charities.
Seeds of Love Ministry has the mission "to preach the Gospel and make disciples right where they are." Saved 2 Serve has the mission of "spreading the love of hope."
