FORT MYERS – In the midst of yet another potential title-winning season, the FGCU women’s soccer team earned recognition by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

One of the nation’s premier sources for college soccer placed Tabby Tindell and Lindsey Patton on the website’s National Top 100 and Freshmen Top 100 Lists, respectively, according to a Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics press release.

In just her first season, Patton (Jacksonville, Fla./Oakleaf HS) has joined with Ashley Parks (St. Louis, Mo./Lafayette HS) to anchor one of the ASUN’s best backlines. FGCU enters the week with a team goals against average of .839, good for 70th in the nation but tops in the conference. For her efforts, Patton appears at No. 95 in the Freshmen Top 100.

The freshman centerback has also tallied two assists this season, the first coming against St. Bonaventure. Patton later assisted on Tindell’s winner against USC Upstate Friday afternoon. Defensively, Patton has aided the Green and Blue to seven shutouts this season.

Tindell (Ocala, Fla./Trinity Catholic HS) is no stranger to TopDrawer accolades, boasting a pair of Team of the Week honors in 2016 in addition to entering the year as the No. 30 player in the Preseason Top 100 and a Top 10 Forward heading into the year as well.

Now at No. 28 in the nation, Tindell has bolstered an already impressive resume by breaking two ASUN Conference records, one addition FGCU record, and most recently being named a Senior CLASS Award candidate.

The Ocala-native has 12 goals and seven assists on the year, bring her career totals to 64 goals and 29 assists for 157 total points. Tindell remains the NCAA active leader with 29 game-winning goals in her career.

This season, the senior is second nationally in game-winning goals (6), seventh in goals per game (0.86), sixth in points per game (2.21), and third in both total goals (12) and points (31).

Tindell, Patton and the Eagles are back in action Saturday against Jacksonville for Senior Night. The match at the FGCU Soccer Complex is slated to begin at 7 p.m. FGCU will then make up its postponed match against Stetson Monday (Oct. 17) at 6 p.m. at the FGCU Soccer Complex.
