Charles L. Ball
On September 1, 2022, AWSC ( retired) Charles L Ball passed away leaving behind his loving wife, Mary Ann, 4 children - Sandra, Michael, Terry and Deborah,9 grandchildren : Douglas, Shara, Mallory, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Amanda, Charles, Carter and Ian, 11 great grandchildren : Douglas, Julian, Elliana, Kaison, Haily, Christopher, Kane, Henry, Azaela, James and Lucy.
Charles had a long career of 30 years in the Navy. He traveled to many places including 4 tours in Vietnam, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii, San Diego, Key West, Iceland, Rota/Lajes and finally Jacksonville. He loved the fact that two of his children, Sandra and Michael and one of his grandchildren, Douglas, also embraced a military life.
After retiring, he spent his days helping raise his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
After many years flying in the P-3, his only regret was that he never got to fly in the new P-8.
He has left a huge hole in our lives and is greatly missed. With love Forever and always till we meet again! A service for Charles will be held at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on October 21, at 11 am.
