CLAY COUNTY - From an arts-and-crafts hub and local dining spots to a patient-centered medical pharmacy, Clay County has welcomed and introduced a variety of new businesses.
Here are a few you can look out for:
Fleming Island residents can look forward to the construction and opening of Parker's Kitchen on the southwest corner of Creighton Road and U.S. Highway 17. According to the company's website, the 5,204-square-foot gas station and convenience store will offer "Southern-inspired" food, including catfish, grits and pork chops.
Another one will also be constructed on Blanding and Tanglewood boulevards in Orange Park.
Other recent eatery grand openings on Fleming Island include Einstein Bros. Bagels at 1581 County Road 220, Clara's Tidbits at 2349 Village Square Parkway and Habana Mariel Cuban Bakery at 1810 Town Center Boulevard.
Jazzi's Creations: DIY Craft Studio and Gift Shop is Orange Park's newest arts-and-crafts hub. Located at 999 Blanding Boulevard, the woman, veteran-owned business opened its doors on Nov. 14. Also in Orange Park, the Cuban Place is slated to take the place of Tom and Betty's Restaurant at 2134 Park Ave.
O'Reilly Auto Parts is gearing up to welcome customers at 1718 Verdad St. in Green Cove Springs. Green Cove Springs will also be getting a Taco Bell along U.S. Highway 17 at 1330 N. Orange Ave.
In Middleburg, the 18,600-square-foot Clay Town Center, at the intersection of Brannan Field and Old Jennings roads, also cut the ribbon on multiple new businesses. According to the Morning Star, Mattress Warehouse, MedPlus Pharmacy and Domino's Pizza opened back in May.
More recently, WingStop opened on Sept. 17. Mexican restaurant Anejo Concina opened the first week of November, as well as the healthy kitchen Verde Vida.
Upcoming openings at the shopping center include Sizzling Nails in January and Firehouse Subs in April. Other businesses to look out for include the Learning Experience, OrthoEdge and Pet Paradise.
