ORANGE PARK - After filing for bankruptcy, Wendy's has decided to close several locations across the country.
Including its longtime location at 753 Park Ave.
According to Usearch.com, the restaurant chain, known for its square beef patties and Frosty desserts, is set to close about 30 to 41 of its locations as part of a restructuring plan following a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by its franchisee, Meritage Hospitality Group, on Sept. 16. The closures are primarily a result of declining sales attributed to rising beef prices and ineffective brand marketing, Usearch said.
The Park Avenue location permanently closed its doors last month and has since cleared the building. There is no word on what will take its place.
