CLAY COUNTY – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office warned a new round of scams is being circulated demanding money, or the other person will expose you’ve downloaded pornography.
The letter states: “With one single click, I can send this filth to every single of your contacts.”
“The second option is to pay me and be confidential about it.” The person promises to be confidential about it, and they will destroy the evidence once they receive the payment in Bitcoin. They end the threat with: “My word is my bond.”
Cook wrote on her Facebook page to ignore the scam.
“Please IGNORE these scams!,” she wrote. “Teens are often targets of scams like this too. Please talk your kids.”
