Man arrested in Jacksonville following armed robbery
OAKLEAF – A Middleburg man was arrested in Jacksonville shortly after he used a weapon to rob a victim of jewelry on Wednesday, Oct. 15, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said.
Tabius Martell Booker Jr., 21, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm after CCSO deputies stopped him on Argyle Forest Boulevard shortly after the holdup.
According to the arrest report, deputies recovered four watches, a ring, a necklace and four charms in a bag that was stuffed under the driver’s seat.
Although he was caught in Jacksonville, Booker was taken to the Clay County Jail under the Cops Without Borders argeement. His bond was set at $75,003.
Middleburg man fined $713 for ignoring orders to stop for crash
MIDDLEBURG – A 53-year-old Middleburg man was arrested for ignoring a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy who ordered him to stop on Friday, Oct. 17, while he was directing traffic at a crash scene on Blanding Boulevard.
Donald Lee Taft was charged with failure to obey law enforcement after he drove around a Public Service Aide while she was allowing drivers in the center lane to flow northbound. According to the arrest report, Taft continued northbound after driving around the PSA.
When another deputy ordered him to stop, Taft raised both hands in “an apparent dismissive manner, then continued to cut off other motorists already traveling northbound in the single open lane.”
Taft still refused to stop until a deputy got into his car and conducted a traffic stop.
Taft was adjudicated guilty by Judge Kristina K. Mobley on Oct. 18 and fined a total of $713.
