MIDDLEBURG – A 44-year-old man from Maxville was arrested on March 14 after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said he sold methamphetamine and fentanyl to a confidential informant during a controlled purchase.
Joshua Roy Padgett was charged with delivering or distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl on March 12, 2024.
According to an affidavit for the arrest report, Padgett and Mercedes Leane Manning met with the informant at a predetermined location near Chip Mill Road. They sold 3.74 grams of methamphetamine and .96 grams of fentanyl.
Manning was arrested on Jan. 18. Both bonds were set at $100,006 and are scheduled to appear in court on April 8.
