MIDDLEBURG – A 35-year-old man was arrested on Feb. 23 for crashing into a second vehicle and stealing $500 and illegal substances, then leaving the scene without assisting a man who sustained a broken pelvis in the accident.

Bo Lee Johns, of Middleburg, was charged with burglary and failure to remain at a crash scene involving serious injury after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office determined he was involved in an accident on Markus Lane. The victims identified Johns as the person who collided with them.

Johns' car had damage to the front bumper with bronze transfer paint consistent with the victims’ car. Johns was found with the help of a K-9 deputy.

His bond was set at $100,006.
