FLEMING ISLAND – Finally! The "Bad Mood Dude" is now serving  its famous breakfast and lunch items at Grumpy's Restaurant.

The long-awaited and highly anticipated restaurant at the former Dick's Wings and Grill at 1893 East-West Pkwy., started its celebration on Friday with a two-day soft opening to support the First Coast YMCA and the Fleming Island High football program.

Patrons, including former Florida Sen. Rob Bradley and his wife, current Florida Sen. Jennifer Bradley, school board member Erin Skipper and Clay County Commissioner John Sgromolo, traded their notoriety for heaping portions of pancakes, eggs, hash browns, burgers and BLTs.

Tickets to support the YMCA and Fleming Island High are $18, and it allows guest to pick an entree and non-alcoholic beverage from the menu.

The soft open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. will continue on Saturday. The grand opening is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 12, at 5:30 a.m.
