ORANGE PARK – In 1994, Congressman John Porter established February as National Bird Feeding Month due to the harsh conditions endured during one of the coldest months of the year.
Thankfully, the weather in our Florida area is mild.
During the month of February, keep your bird feeders filled, have your binoculars close by for viewing and obtain a bird book to identify the species. Backyard bird-feeding is an entertaining, educational and inexpensive pastime enjoyed by children and adults.
Maybe you will even have one curious bird pose for you.
