Woman suspected of being twice over DUI limit crashes with child in car
MIDDLEBURG – A woman who crashed in a construction zone on County Road 218 on June 15 was arrested after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said she more than doubled the legal limit of intoxication.
Andrea Hall Boze, 40, of Orange Park, was charged with DUI with a blood alcohol level of greater than .15 with a passenger younger than 18 and with property damage or injury after her car collided with a concrete barrier near the Swimming Pen bridge.
According to the arrest report, she had damaged approximately $600 in construction barriers as Clay County Utilities Authority was completing work on new water pipes. Her car wound up on the other side of the barriers, away from the travel lanes.
Deputies noticed her uneasiness and suspected her of being intoxicated. She failed a field sobriety test. Once at the Clay County Jail, her breath alcohol concentration samples were .184 and .179 – more than twice the legal limit of .08.
Her bond was set at $2,004.
