FLEMING ISLAND — Rumors have been floating around that a certain breakfast staple in Clay County will soon be making a new home on the island.

And Grumpy's confirmed on Jan 13. that a new location is currently under construction at 1803 East-West Pkwy., originally Dick's Wings and Grill. It will be the third location in Clay, with franchises already in Orange Park and Middleburg.

The location will be operated by the Hoard Family, who are also the owners of the one in Middleburg. It will be their second restaurant.

At this time, there is no confirmed opening date. The restaurant said more updates will be coming soon.

Grumpy's is a full-service American diner, known for its quality interpretations of American and Southern comfort dishes. Breakfast, brunch and lunch are served daily. It's been voted Jacksonville's No. 1 restaurant for eight years in a row.
