Upcoming Districts

Fleming Island's flag football team, here with defensive rusher Sarah Stofsky about to pounce in a win over Oakleaf, has finally found their groove with a win streak headed to a Tuesday match against undefeated Clay High.

Fleming Island girls lacrosse has had a strong season under first year coach Isabella Marx, who holds the career scoring record for the Golden Eagles. They will lean on top scorer Meredith Giebeig who had 50 goals for the Golden Eagles. Fleming Island received a first round BYE in the district tournament and will open playoffs Friday at Fleming Island against St. Augustine. Fleming Island's boys lacrosse will also play in their district semifinal against Sandalwood on Friday after the girls game.

Middleburg High weightlifter CaidenThigpen, as well as a plethora of area lifters, started their district to region to state trek this week with championship tournaments on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Orange Park senior tennis player Nicholas Santana will be at the Eagle Harbor Tennis Complex on Monday, April 13 as area tennis teams battle to get to a district title and a state ticket.
