Facebook post alerts deputies to firearm, drugs, parole violations
MIDDLEBURG – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office assisted Florida Probation and Parole in arresting a man who was seen on Facebook brandishing a firearm.
Zachary James McKenzie, 22, of Middleburg, then was arrested last Friday for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, as well as intent to sell or manufacture cocaine and violation of parole.
McKenzie apparently had a picture of himself holding a weapon, which was in violation of his parole, CCSO said. Parole officers searched his house and found a 9 mm handgun, as well as the drugs.
McKenzie was remanded to the Clay County Jail without bond.
Man breaks nose in drunken tussle with sheriff’s deputy
FLEMING ISLAND – A local man got his nose broken last Thursday in a scuffle with a Clay County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
William John Kendzierski, 46, of Fleming Island, was charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting a police officer with violence and battery on a police office after deputies were called to The Wire on County Road 220 to investigate a man who was acting suspiciously, according to the arrest report.
Kendzierski refused to cooperate with deputies and had to be tackled. One deputy sustained a scratch on his neck and small cut on his hand while wrestling with Kendzierski, while the suspect suffered a broken nose.
