Middleburg man indicted for molesting 9-year-old girl
MIDDLEBURG – A grand jury indicted a Middleburg man April 23 on one count of sexual battery, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and showing obscene material to a 9-year-old girl during 13 months while the girl and her mother were frequently staying with him.
Damon Eric Bynum, now 57, will return to court on May 14. Until then, he will remain at the Clay County Jail with a $300,009 bond.
According to the original arrest report on Jan. 6, the girl’s mother said she caught Bynum with her daughter on Jan 5. Investigators interviewed Bynum, and he was arrested a day later.
According to the arrest report, the molestation could have spanned from Dec. 1, 2023, to Jan. 4.
