GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Kindred Hospital North Florida is a long-term acute hospital that treats patients requiring care and rehabilitation.
“We are a long-term acute hospital with an acute rehab unit,” Robbi Hudson, CEO at Kindred Hospital North Florida, said. “We specialize in treating and rehabilitating post-intensive care and complex medical patients requiring extended care in a hospital setting.”
Its mission is to provide patients with a compassionate patient experience to ensure they recover fully through intensive medical and rehabilitative care.
The hospital has 58 Long Tern Acute Care beds, 14 in the Acute Rehab Unit, and six ICU beds. Their Advanced Care Delivery Model comprises a highly professional healthcare team tailored to the patient’s needs and care plan.
A pulmonologist, a critical care physician, registered nurses and physical therapists such as occupational and speech therapists are some health care professionals assigned to patients. In addition, the hospital offers a variety of rehabilitation therapies, such as pulmonary, early progressive mobility, neurological rehabilitation and wound care, depending on the patient’s needs. They also have the resources to perform dialysis, lab work, radiology and telemetry when needed.
Kindred Hospital aims to provide a patient-friendly environment where patients and loved ones are involved in the recovery process.
“We always involve the families. We have a care plan for each patient and want to ensure the family is involved,” Hudson said.
The Green Cove Springs location is one of 76 Kindred Hospitals nationwide owned by Scion Health. They are the leading post-acute hospital in the country and have been a pioneer in developing the best treatment to help patients recover for more than 30 years. They are dedicated to the patient’s well-being and aim to ensure patients who are severely ill or injured are healed, recovered and can return to their daily activities.
“We have a great team here,” Hudson said. “We have around 200 employees, and it takes a big team to make all this happen.”
