Keystone Power Equipment offers sales, repair services

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS – Keystone Power Equipment Sales and Service recently opened its doors at 7907 State Road 100.

Clinton Gillen, owner of Carquest Keystone Auto Parts, and his business partner Scott Callahan purchased the building formerly known as GNS Auto several months ago. The idea to open a second business came to them after Charles Peck, their technician at Carquest, suggested that they move their repair service department at Carquest to a new location.

“It’s real exciting. All I’ve ever done in my life is auto parts,” Gillen said. “Now that I have a second business, it’s just another opportunity to give God glory and give Him all the credit for blessing me to be able to do this.”

The store offers repair services for all types of outdoor equipment, such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, weed eaters and blowers.

“We work on any brand of equipment, make or model,” Gillen said.

They provide pickup and delivery services to customers living in Keystone Heights, Starke and Melrose, and they sell equipment parts and used outdoor equipment.

The store plans to expand its services by providing UTV repair services in the future. They also plan to give UTVs and new equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, edgers, and chainsaws for customers to purchase.

“Our plan in the near future, we’re hoping about a year from now, is to remodel the entire building and turn it into a show room,” Gillen said. “The other building on the property that is just being used for storage will be turned into the shop for Charlie and the technicians to work in.”

Keystone Power Equipment is looking forward to supporting the community in more ways than one. Besides offering repair services, the store will also provide additional jobs. In addition, they can donate to local causes or sponsor local functions and groups.

“I was born and raised here. I really like giving back to the community, being involved,” Gillen said.
