GREEN COVE SPRINGS – More than 750 attended the American Farmstead Convention last Saturday at the Clay County Fairgrounds, where they shopped and learned about growing food to be self-sufficient and selling surplus to pay for other essentials. Guests were shown how to butcher a chicken, can fruits and vegetables, buy or make homemade honey and caramel, make soaps and candles, buy seeds and plants, maintain livestock on smaller lots and produce textiles and crafts.
