MIDDLEBURG – HCA Florida Middleburg Emergency, a campus of HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital, is now open.

The new facility is located at the crossroads of Blanding Boulevard and Everett Avenue at 2560 Blanding Blvd. The facility is 10,820 square feet and is a full-service ER with 11 patient rooms, imaging and lab services. The ER is open 24 hours and is staffed by a team of board-certified emergency physicians, specially trained nurses and staff equipped to treat adults and children.

The emergency room is the third freestanding emergency room for Orange Park Hospital. HCA Florida Park West Emergency located on 103rd Street and HCA Florida Normandy Park Emergency located on Normandy Boulevard in West Jacksonville, have treated nearly 70,000 patients this year.

“The growth has exploded in Clay County over the past few years and is expected to continue to grow. Quick access to care for this part of the county is critical,” said Dr. Michael Euwema, Emergency Medicine Physician and Facility Medical Director at HCA Florida Middleburg Emergency. “As a Clay County resident, I am proud to offer these new services in my home community.”

In addition to emergency care, patients treated at the ER will have access to Orange Park Hospital’s team of specialists for maternity, women’s care, advanced cardiovascular, neurology, critical care and surgical care.

“Having an emergency room in Southern Clay County also benefits local EMS. They can return to service quicker than before when they had to take patients to the closest hospital 10-15 minutes away,” said Euwema. “This will allow them to get back on the road to respond to service calls quicker and, as a result, help more people.”

The emergency room is conveniently located to provide quick emergency care access to those living in Middleburg, Lake Asbury, Green Cove Springs and Penney Farms.

This year, Orange Park Hospital will also complete a $34 million 101,435 square feet expansion, adding a 20-bed ICU to its existing 28 ICU beds and another 48 private patient rooms.
