GREEN COVE SPRINGS – Police Chief E.J. Guzman joined the “Trilogy Club” by receiving the prestigious FBI LEEDA Trilogy Award after successfully graduating from the programs provided by the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, consisting of 120 hours of accredited training. The FBI Trilogy courses included comprehensive learning across three disciplines: The Supervisor Leadership Institute, The Command Leadership Institute and The Executive Leadership Institute.

“Upon becoming the Chief of Police, I set forth a specific goal to enhance both personal development and the department’s stature,” Guzman said. “One primary goal was to pursue continuous self-improvement. Another critical objective was to elevate the Green Cove Springs Police Department to be recognized as a premier law enforcement agency.”

The goal of these classes is to advance the science and art of law enforcement leadership, as well as to promote the exchange of information. That works to improve law enforcement management practices through training, education, and networking among police professionals across the United States and beyond.

“The FBI-LEEDA Trilogy aligns with both these goals,” Guzman said. “It provides high-quality educational programs focused on three aspects of leadership: front-line supervision, mid-level management and executive leadership. Established leaders from various sectors within law enforcement teach these courses. Completing the Trilogy underscores our commitment to those we serve and affirms our dedication to running a professional organization.”
