ORANGE PARK – Lee Goodnight, Hair By Lee & Friends owner in Orange Park, has been an adult volunteer with the Girl Scouts since 1987, and with the Gateway Council as a canoe and kayak instructor since 2001. On Sept. 23, he received the “Man Enough to be a Girl Scout” award presented annually to a man who has made significant contributions to the council. He received his award at the flag ceremony for Aquatics Weekend. Gateway Council holds four Aquatics Weekends each year, where girls can participate in four canoe classes, three kayak classes, two sailing classes and archery. There is also a program for Brownie Scouts. For additional more information, go to GirlScouts-Gateway.org.
