ORANGE PARK – The Hummingbird Circle, Garden Club of Orange Park, recently celebrated Christmas at their December meeting at Club Continental where they enjoyed a delicious luncheon and lots of door prizes.
Floral arrangements, a Christmas wreath and a wooden snowman were among the goodies members took home.
This year the group voted to support the Orange Park High Outreach Program as their charity project. Member Pat Gommpers contacted Jennifer Salliotte, family and community engagement coordinator, to find out what students might need as the colder weather sets in. Four giant gift bags plus a wagon full of boxes and shopping bags overflowed with sweatshirts, sweat pants, other warm clothing, shampoo, body wash, shaving supplies and oral hygiene products to help fulfill the needs of the high school outreach program.
Pat arranged to drop everything off at the high school and was greeted with gratitude and a tour of the outreach room. How heartwarming to know our group made such a big difference this holiday season.
If others are interested in assisting this program, they can contact Jennifer Salliotte, Children’s Home Society of Florida at Orange Park at (904) 612-0134 or visit their website at www.chsfl.org.
