GREEN COVE SPRINGS – If it has to do with strawberries, you can find it Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, at the Clay County Fairgrounds.
The eighth annual Strawberry Fest traditionally attracts large crowds. Gates will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
In addition to truckloads of Plant City strawberries, the festival will include arts and crafts, bounce houses, a Frisbee dog show, a free petting zoon, monster truck rides, live entertainment, sack races, pony rides, Hula Hoop and cornhole contests, face painting, rock painting, axe throwing and a “berry” cute baby contest.
Anyone with a sweet tooth can also enjoy a pie-eating contest, bowls of strawberry shortcake, chocolate-covered strawberries and strawberry lemonade.
Admission is $7, while children 2 and younger are admitted for free.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Guardian Ad Litem program and the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs.
A $1 off admission coupon is available at ClayCountyFest.com.
