GREEN COVE SPRINGS - Six goals in the first half allowed the Clay High girls soccer team to cruise to an 8-0 district semifinal win over Columbia and put the Lady Blue Devils in the Tuesday final against top seed Lincoln. Lincoln beat a late-surging Ridgeview High team 6-1. Ridgeview had a pseudo upset of Middleburg 3-0 in the district opener.

"We have been finding the net lately in our last week of the season," said Ridgeview coach Trevor Clark, who finishes 5-6-1. "We had a three-game win streak going and had some momentum for the Middleburg game."
Middleburg, under first-year coach Joy Rosano, finishes at 7-7-1.
At Clay, the dynamic scoring duo of Brooke Bunton and Kirra Dodson went right to work with four goals before the first half water break with senior Kaygen Williamson adding a goal as the Blue Devils, 12-1-1, will travel to Tallahassee Lincoln, 12-5-1, for the district final on Tues., Jan. 30.
Lincoln has on its schedule a 1-0 loss to St. Johns Country School on January 13 and also a 2-1 loss to defending 2A champion Lakeland Christian on January 20.
