CLAY COUNTY – Applications for the Clay County Farm Bureau Teacher Mini-Grant program are now available.

The Farm Bureau Teacher Mini-Grant program is designed to show students that the agriculture industry is an integral part of their lives as it provides food, fiber, and shelter for the United States and the world. It is also essential for children to understand where their food and fiber come from and develop an appreciation for the agriculture industry.

The Farm Bureau seeks to educate students about agriculture by partnering with their teachers to support classroom projects integrating agriculture into their academic curriculum. Therefore, the Farm Bureau will provide $2,000 to Clay County School District teachers to support agriculture literacy programs. The maximum amount awarded to a teacher will be $200.

The deadline for applying is Oct. 27. Notification of awards will be sent out by Oct. 31. Applications can be left at the Clay County Farm Bureau’s Office at 2000 Henley Raod in Middleburg, sent in the county mail to Kelly Mosley, Career and Technical Education Supervisor at the CTE/ACE Building or emailed to Terri.Davis@ffbf.org.

You can get a copy of the application by contacting Terri.Davis@ffbf.org or calling the Clay County Farm Bureau office at (904) 282-0644.
